Nicky Fish B.A. ( Hons ) Dip. Land & Countryside Management
Nicky is the founder of Second Nature and has over 15 years experience of working with children as an environmental educator. Nicky has been influenced, trained and worked alongside some of the most innovative and highly regarded nature educators and has many years experience working for leading conservation organisations as an educator such as the RSPB, the Forestry Commission, the Wildlife Trust and the National Trust.
As well as being trained as an environmental educator and wildlife expert Nicky has trained and worked in play therapy using cooperative and team building games to develop confidence and self-esteem and specialist training to inspire people with learning difficulties so is very experienced at working with diverse groups of people.
Nicky has been trained in many thought-provoking and challenging ways through Bishop Wood’s Earth Education workshops, Bridgwater College’s Forest School Leader Training, and other new enabling approaches which make her enthusiasm and teaching unique.
Earth Education-magical learning adventures that focus on building good feelings for the Earth and its life through rich, firsthand contact helping to create lifestyles that will lessen their impact upon the Earth.
Forest School-Using the outdoor environment, children are encouraged and inspired to grow in confidence, independence and self-esteem through the mastery of small achievable tasks.
Second Nature works with schools, local communities and a range of partners including the Countryside Council for Wales, to educate for a sustainable future.
